5 The sale and supply of alcohol

| Commentary

As far as the sale and supply of alcohol is concerned1, the definition of licensable activities (which are not necessarily also ‘qualifying club activities’) of the Licensing Act 2003 are: the sale by retail of alcohol2; and, the supply of alcohol where the supply is by or on behalf of a club to, or to the order of, a member of the club3.

In relation to any alcohol, ‘sale by retail’ is given a broad definition in the 2003 Act. It
