What is meant by ‘the provision of regulated entertainment’ for the purposes of the Licensing Act 2003 is not without complexity. Anyone interested in providing some type of entertainment—and is, therefore, concerned as to whether or not some form of authorisation under the Act is required for its lawful provision—would be greatly assisted if the statute simply listed the types of entertainment which were subject to its regulation.
