Dismissal definition

What does Dismissal mean?

Where an employer terminates the employment of an employee.

Employment legislation (if applicable) dictates that the employer can only dismiss an employee on one of the fair grounds of dismissal: Misconduct; Capability/Qualification; Redundancy; Retirement; to avoid a contravention of an enactment, and some other substantial reason.
