Climate change is unsurprisingly at the top of the agenda this AGM season, with climate activists wreaking havoc at physical meetings and shareholder-requisitioned resolutions causing a stir. The Paris Agreement was most certainly the elephant in the room for Glencore, Shell and BP at their 2023 AGMs. The obligations of the multilateral treaty have prompted shareholders and activists alike to demand more accountability and transparency from some FTSE 350 companies. This Market Insights report examines how climate concerns have impacted recent FTSE 350 AGMs, particularly in light of the Paris Agreement 2015. In addition to climate-related AGM developments, the report analyses how climate objectives have manifested in A.G Barr's deposit return scheme and the proposed amendments to the UK Corporate Governance Code.

This Market Insights report features expert commentary from Sophie Wilkinson (Solicitor, UUÂãÁÄÖ±²¥) and Paul Benson (Senior Lawyer, ClientEarth).
