On 24 May 2023 the Carer's Leave Bill received royal assent and introduced a statutory entitlement to five days of unpaid leave per calendar year for employees who are providing or arranging care. The law will be enacted by 2024 and requires further regulations from the government setting our how the entitlement will work.
