What does Get mean?

divorce under Jewish law.

The get is a document of divorce presented by a husband to his wife to effect their divorce under Jewish law. The essential text of the get is quite short – “you are hereby permitted to all men”, effectively stating that the wife is no longer a married woman and therefore that the laws of adultery no longer apply should she meet and have sexual relations with another man. The get is not a substitute for a grant of decree absolute (the formal dissolution of a legal marriage).

Where LA’s consider an adult may have needs for care and support, they must provide an assessment to determine whether they have such needs.
