A Bill to provide for the regulation of competition in digital markets, amend the Competition Act 1998 and the Enterprise Act 2002, and to make provision relating to the protection of consumer rights. See: LNB News 27/04/2023 50.
Across the consumer protection landscape, proposed changes include revocation of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 and the Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information) Regulations 2015, which will be replaced by the relevant chapters of the Bill. New rules will also apply to providers of consumer saving schemes and subscription contracts.
