This year’s annual round-up reviews some of the most significant developments of 2017 and previews what is on the horizon for 2018. Some provisions of the Digital Economy Act 2017 (DEA 2017) relating to copyright infringement came into force on 1 October 2017 and in relation to the repeal of section 52 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (CDPA 1988) on 28 July 2016, the ‘sell period’ ended on 28 January 2017.
