7  Sale of tobacco, etc, to persons under [eighteen]

(1)     Any person who sells to a person .Ìý.Ìý. under the age of [eighteen] years any tobacco or cigarette papers, whether for his own use or not, shall be liable, [on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 4 on the standard scale]:

[(1A)     It shall be a defence for a person charged with an offence under subsection (1) above to prove that he took all reasonable precautions and exercised all due diligence to avoid the commission of the offence.]
