6  Interpretation etc

(1)     In this Act—

“complainant” has the meaning given in section 1(2);

“picture” includes a likeness however produced;

[“publication” includes any speech, writing, relevant programme or other communication in whatever form, which is addressed to the public at large or any section of the public (and for this purpose every relevant programme shall be taken to be so addressed), but does not include an indictment or other document prepared for use in particular legal proceedings;]

“relevant programme” means a programme included in a programme service, within the meaning of the Broadcasting Act 1990;

... and

“written publication” includes a film, a sound track and any other record in permanent form but does not include an indictment or other document prepared for use in particular legal proceedings.

[(1A)     Section 48 of the Armed Forces Act 2006 (attempts, conspiracy, [encouragement and assistance] and aiding and abetting outside England and Wales) applies for the purposes of this Act as if the reference in subsection (3)(b) of that section to any of the following
