In order for an employer, to effectively withhold PAYE income tax, NSSF social security contributions, and LST, and pay them over to the relevant authorities, employees have certain registration responsibilities.

Using the e-services portal on the URA website, employees should use the registration link to register for taxes as an 'Individual', and apply for a Tax identification Number (TIN); required by their employer to be able to make PAYE submissions.
