Employees who have been given notice of termination of their employment by reason of redundancy have a right to request time off work to look for employment or make arrangements for training for future employment.

The right to request time off work is not an absolute right to time off work. However, it is a right not to be unreasonably refused time off. If an employee is granted time off work, they are entitled to a proportion of their normal weekly pay for the time taken.

Who is the right available to?

The requirements are similar, but not identical, to the requirements for entitlement to a redundancy
