VAT registration threshold – local establishmentSAR 375,000
VAT registration threshold – no local establishmentNon-residents are required to register for VAT if they have an obligation to pay VAT in Saudi Arabia, regardless of business turnover. They must apply for registration within 30 days of the first supply in relation to which the duty to pay VAT arose.
Voluntary VAT registrationThe threshold for voluntary registration is 50% of the mandatory VAT registration threshold.

It is possible to register voluntarily for VAT in Saudi Arabia therefore if:
• the value of the person's supplies or expenses for the previous 12 months is between SAR 187,500 and SAR 375,000; or
• the value of the person's supplies or expenses is expected to be between SAR 187,500 and SAR 375,000 within the following 12 months.
